Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A gold color metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inches (3.18cm) in height overall blazoned as follows: Per chevron enarched Argent, Gules and Sable, in base, a staff entwined by a serpent Or. Attached below the shield a red tri-partite scroll with the inscription DREAM-SEEK-ACHIEVE, in Gold.

Symbolism
The shield denotes defense provided by the soldiers to the nation. The color white alludes to the dental profession as well as their commitment to the prevention of infectious disease. The colors red, black and gold represents the colors of the flags of Germany and Belgium, the countries in which the Dental Health Activity has clinics. The chevron enarched suggests military association as well as pays tribute to the arms of Rheinland-Pfalz. The staff and serpent are adapted from the Staff of Aesculapius, the mythological god of medicine, indicates the units mission to render quality medical care to all patients.
